One of my 5.0 LX actually still had the ORIGINAL clutch at 136k miles when I sold it. So you should be fine. My 93 LX had a FRPP King Cobra with over 400rwhp and never slipped either.

Some guys ran the 2.93/6lb lower at the track but if I remember correctly it required alot of icing between runs. I think it was mentioned on SVTP or Modulardfords you would need to shift earlier as well since it would run out of steam early.
