Question for Scott (ugotbit) and whomever else

No problem. I don't know him, but I have been to nolls a few times, because he did the machine work on a few LSX builds I worked on. I think L&M offered a set at one time, I'm not sure if they still do, I would call and ask. I know Comp makes a set, but they have a bunch off small screws that...

    s/c breake in??

Some clutches require a brak in while others do not. It depends on the type of materal the clutch is made out of. Follow the manufatcures procedure on brak in, most are 500 miles stop and go like Glueyes said.

Question for Scott (ugotbit) and whomever else

Stu- Oh man where to start. Block- What did you plan on using? The Alm blocks would be a great way for you to save some weight, and since your not planning on running massive power, are a great option to think about. The Teksid, "Mountain", Aluminator and current 05+ 4.6 block are all great...

IRS MM Alm diff bushings New in box!

I am not, I replaced mind to Delrin ones when I had the diff out a few years back. They seem to be holding up ok, but I have had these bushings sitting around for 2 years waiting for mine to wear out and could use the money for some other stuff. They work well, I installed them in a friends...

IRS MM Alm diff bushings New in box!

The Alm is solid, so there is no deflection. They do transmit some noise, depending on exhaust and gear wine, is how much you hear. The front bushings are also alm, and they come with shims, to properly set pinion angle. They also will not distort or break down with heat and age like rubber/poly.

    Installing cams in Cobra

LOL I have no hard feelings towards Howard or Redline, I used to work there. I went my seporate way and Howard is doing his thing. It was too hard to ballance two jobs wrenching 16 hours a day, two days a week, a life, relationship ect. I wish him nothing but the best and success.

FR500 cam kit is for N/A applications. You could go with the GT(GT40) cams, not sure exact specs.

    Installing cams in Cobra

No, I didn't degree mine. I was too chicken. Back when I did mine, the only way to adjust cam timing was to file the key ways on the cam sprockets. Many have done it with success, but with 9k miles and brand new heads, I didn't want to take the chance. I know I left power on the table, but I was...

    Installing cams in Cobra

Ok. If it is a text book response, as you were saying, don't you think the people saying it might know something about it? I have cams. I installed them myself. I paid $1500+ in parts alone. The ONLY reason I instaled cams in my car was because I replaced the heads to the latest castings. I...

    Installing cams in Cobra

Not worth the time, money and labor. Buy a Twin Screw and call it a day, keep the driveability like stock and enjoy. If you are pulling the engine or heads, why not, but I would not do it to do it, or for the sound. The cams need to properly be dergreed, power is in cam timing.
