^^^ yeah you are right it is a 428, I don't know why I typed 429. The are is almost done (restored) just needs a little bit of interior work. It has mach1 emblems on the inside but don't know if they are original. I'm going to try to get the Vin number to see what comes up. Thanks for the help...

hello everyone, this car belongs to a friends uncle and he is looking to sell. I do not have a ton of details about it, but I just want to get an approximate. The car is a 69 fastback with a 428 in it. I am not sure if it is a SCJ or CJ, but lets assume it is the lesser of the 2 :D owner says...

are they next to each other? could be a blown gasket in between the 2

detonation could have caused a head gasket to blow (or a piston to melt, let's hope that's not the case) if you do a leak down test it can help you determine where the engine is not sealed by listening to the air escaping

first, can you turn the engine by hand? second, how did you run the wires from the battery? what did you do for grounding?

did you guys remove the spout before setting base timing?? :D sometimes we overlook the simple stuff, LOL

also check the fuel pressure to see if it is good. How old is the fuel filter? Have you guys checked it?

how many miles? could be a bad, poorly firing injector(s) or (long shot) wrong spark plug

they will make power, the only downside that most find (including me) is that the ports were a little rough and could use a little cleaning up, but they do work very very well
