mustang wont start after head and cam swap

Sounds like someone took a non-HO 302 and tossed it in the car to me. If it is a car or truck roller block it would be ok but something is not right. IF it had a non roller cam....I hope you got all the roller specific stuff and installed it.

    Coolant issue

Yea, sounds like a thermostat issue. I am hoping the headgaskets did not get injured. I'd do the test for the hydrocarbons in the coolant like mentioned above too just to make sure.

    Cant leave well enough alone....

Yea do like stated above, usually when I degrease and engine I do it while it is running but it is still common to get water down below the plug boot or COP and develop a misfire. Don't sweat it!

Trick Flow 2V top end kit from Summit...

I know there are some guys with bigger cams making high 300's at the wheels, here is a guy making 340rwhp. Seems totally possible with the potential they have if the right cams are used and the combo is maximized. at last my Dyno Numbers for trick flow heads - Mustang Forums at StangNet

mustang wont start after head and cam swap

So this was a roller block originally but had a flat tappet cam installed? If it was 180 off it would not start up at all.

BIG REDS 67 Fastback build thread.

Paint looks good man! Great attention to detail with the car in general. I wish I could have kept my '69 Mach 1 and redid the whole thing, it kills me I sold it. I just don't think I'd have drove it much.

    T5 Rebuild/Upgrade Kit?

I got all of my stuff from Hanlon Home | www.hanlonmotorsports.com I would get the Tremec repair manual or download it here: http://www.ttcautomotive.com/English/media/pdfs_autogen/T-5_Service_Manual.pdf There are online videos on rebuilding them, I did my own years ago and it shifted perfect...

    Here we go again

12223861 is the 3 bar, technically you can use a 2 bar and it works fine really since you are not running a lot of boost. 12247571 is the # for the 2 bar. That is what I have and used it in my friends 99 Cobra to log boost and it worked great. A lot of places on ebay sell them with the pigtail...

    Here we go again

Nice man! I might hook up a DataQ in my cousin's 90 GT. I assume you are using that to log the wideband rather than wiring into the EGR?

    the 95gt build.....

That's cool it is still going strong then, some don't! I wish I had the time/$$$ to do mine the way I'd like it but I'd need another job.:smash: I have the know-how but lack the funds....

    the 95gt build.....

255/50 is as wide as you want to go on stock Pony wheels. I have seen some Hooiser DR's in that size 60ft in the 1.4-1.5 area and run mid 9's consistent but that was with an auto.

I ran 11's with stock T-5 in a friends car and then another friend ran 10.8's with his stock T-5 in his 93 LOL. The driver, clutch, tires used, etc all come in to play for sure...
