    Clutch pops

    Sounds like a few things. The throw out bearing is bad for one. The other noise is probably either the cable in the fork or the cable where it attaches in the quadrant. Is it all stock stuff? Get under and look at it. The gear grind is synchro damage.

    98 up have a returnless style pump, you can run a returnless pump in a return car but not vice versa. For free Scott's stock pump should work fine.

    I didn't think it would be either of those. Driveshaft itself may be screwed up if not the ujoints. How are the mounts? I have had a bad tranny mount before and it shook the car like crazy.

    looks like a roller block to me actually, but many of the cars/trucks had roller blocks but flat tappet cams.

    That's ok everyone has to start somewhere. Nobody is going to knock you for trying. What lifters are in the motor now? If it is a roller compatible block it will look like this. The lifter bores will be machined on the top like this a non-roller will look like this

    Yea the TFS cam is a HO firing order but that doesn't tell us much. Does your motor have the lifter setup I posted a pic of?? Those are stock rockers for 78 and newer small blocks 1.6 ratio. Only the Cobra got rollers, and are 1.7.

    Is there really any gain by going with a 2.9? The dynos I have seen were ok but it looks like a 2.3 with E85 would be even more impressive idk. With a 129 trap speed it should run 10's, I'd work on that 1st but thats just me.
