That seems pretty odd. There isn't much he could have done wrong to make it lose oil pressure like that. Usually a pressure loss like that is oil bleeding around the cam or main bearings. What was wrong with the lifter that was in the car? Could it have hurt the cam?
Hey man. A good set of subframe connectors with seat bars is usually about $175 + tax to insall and weld in nice. Upper and lower control arms.............depend on what type. Adjustable ones take about twice as lond so we can square up the rear and set pinion angle and such. That's about $150...
Locking out the timing makes it so you have full timing all the time, taking away the advance.
I have done it with MSD distributors and carbs but not EFI.
I wish I could but that's a whole different ball game. You will need an engine, transmission, exhaust system, drive shaft, radiator, ECM and wiring harness among other things. For the price you could sell the V6 and buy a GT.
What gears and rear tire do you have. Is 4th gear 1:1 on that trans? What's the max rpm you would shift at and what trap rpm are you shooting for?
Gear install would be $250 plus parts. No need to change axle or carrier bearings in a '12.
Thanks Rob. This engine actually sold yesterday. I'm assembling it with a new set of AFR 185's and it's going to sit between the fenders of a 1963 Fairlane. :)
Are the control arms adjustable? If they are binding it will easliy blow the tires off.
The best way to tell what gears you have is to jack the car up and put it in neutral. Make sure the wheels move freely and that the brakes aren't binding. Mark a tire and the driveshaft. Have someone rotate...
