more Progress AND broken stuff :rolleyes: ...

I took the motor mount out of the box and it was just bare metal :rolleyes: SO ... I decided that it had to be painted. In between coats I installed the lifters, connecting rods, an rockers ... I took a step back to take a pic and WTF ???? the OTHER motor mount was broken :fire: ... another trip to Advance. I also picked up new valve cover gaskets, a thermostat and some clear RTV ... I forgot the oil filter that I will need soon :nono: ... THIS motor mount had paint so no need to screw with that ... installed the motor mounts attached the left hedder with the new hedder bolts that I bought ........ that were 1/4 inch too short WTF ??? just long enough to catch and then F up the beginning of the threads in one of the mount holes .... hhhhhhhhh (thats a sigh in case you didnt gather) ... lower the engine down beat it with a hammer pried on it with a 2X4 and a BIG Fn screwdriver and after much sweat and swearing the engine now sits in place with the motor mount bolts in !!!! OH and the thermostat is the WRONG ONE ... I guess I will return that when I go to get the oil filter

OK more news ... intake manifold is on, timing cover is on, valve covers are on, and the water pump is on. Parts stores SUCK !!! just sayin ... I have pictures but wont be able to post them until after Tuesday because I left my camera at Kyles LOL ...

ok progress ... I bought a set of taps because Kyle didnt know they had some :rolleyes: and fixed the mount that got screwed up by the short hedder bolt ... I was one bolt short so I substituted in a bolt that had a different sized head LOL ... lets see if I remember or curse my self later for that one!! Mounted the fuel pump attached the fuel lines bolted on the carb (with some new carb studs bought at the Zone, they look sa-weet) hooked up the throttle, bolted on the water neck ..... a bunch of little stuff ... the most impressive thing was taking the Alternator apart to check on the brushes ... with Kyles idea I got the brushes back in place and the alternator back together. I have to bring it to one of the parts stores and test it but I am optimistic !!! I should be ready Friday night to fire up the sleeping beast !!!!!!!!!!
