well theres probly allot of guys pushing some good power and doing so on some not so rain friendly tires so i can understand if thats the case.. but it would be unfortunate if this got screwed up all over some rain. i guess we'll hope for the best. but im still down for it regardless so keep us posted.

When you're making decent power and are running slicks or DRs, driving in the rain can be done but it's not fun and it's dangerous.

...Just getting back to the office (haven't read all the Post...)
...I'm willing to take my '03 Cobra to the "Rain or Shine" event...You never know with the weather...may rain, may miss us!! We all know how good the weather men are! :nono: ...are cars won't melt!!
...We have a group of some 25-30 cars meeting in Latham, and I know of no one backing out due to possible rain! :smash:
Lets keep the Show for July 18th....There is a Pavilion at the site so we all can still have fun!!
Worst case, we're wiping down our cars during the event OR cleaning them on Sunday!!
Also, who's to say that August 2nd would be any better?????????

I am going to wait until the end of the day to make the decision. IF the forecast changes then we'll be good, but honestly guys it doesnt look good for this weekend

^^ +100 what if it`s gonna rain on august 2nd ? Or if only half the people could come... it won`t be so much fun.
As for those with slicks, i`m 10000% percent positive nobody will be driving fast if the roads are wet... on the contrary, we will be driving SLOWER just for you guys.

i dont know if its worth it for some of those bad ass slicks n skinnys cars to come out in the rain..... we should try to get a tentative list of who can definitely come aug 2nd....... and weigh the pros n cons, i mean.... some of these cars have never seen rain.... and i mean really guys, who wants to go for a cruise in the rain, all the verts.... a cruise is for nice days with the top down hanging out with your buddies.... i personally think if its an 80% chance of rain sat,... we move it to Aug 2nd.

^^^It doesn't matter how slow one drives with a high HPed car with slicks....i've seen plenty of them slip and slide with slick roads, while the sun shining after rain.
Edit: I do agree with what Eric stated....not to start a pissing match OR getting into an argument, but I've spent many hours preparing my car for this...and I'm not even done, lol. I take great pride in my car, though it is my DD....never the less, I see it being wasted for preparing my car and driving it in rain, regardless of the little power it makes. Think what you will, but that is my mindset.
If it rains, it rains...I will not be there....but it's re-scheduled for Sunday, chances are I will not be there....never the less, I was going to make a donation....I will just have to make my donation a bit more respectable for my lack of presence.

If you have slicks on your car, you should not drive in the rain. PERIOD
Trust me guys I DO NOT want to postpone this at all but I received a lot of PM's from different members saying if it rains they wont go, and to postpone or reschedule. I'll be keeping an eye on the forecast all day and will keep everybody updated.

Just wanted to also let you know that many that I've spoken with had a hard time getting this Saturday off... many had to make special baby sitting arrangements, take time off from work, etc. THAT at this 11th hour would make it very difficult to make the event on Aug. 2nd....Me being one of them!!

I know, and Jared booked a hotel, and this has been set in stone for a while. I'm leaning toward NOT postponing the event. If a few people have to drop out it's not the end of the world. Who knows, it may not even rain. It rained here for 10 minutes and now is sunny and gorgeous out.
