Mustangs @ Letchworth 8/2/09

My opinion for what's worth:

I think it would be best for everyone to bring their own food & drink with something to share if they'd like. Oh yeah, maybe we should all bring a small bag of charcoal too........could be pretty important to operation !

I'm thinkin' this rally will be one that puts a face with a Stang and get to know each other. If we have a good turnout and get to know each other a little better, we can get more organized for future rally's.

Any thoughts? or

Why don't we pool our money together next week and send it to Silverspy.

I plan on making the Frostys Run Monday. The VFW Post in East Aurora has their cruise night. According to Rod and Piston, this is the last cruise night Monday for Duffs. Seems like they ran into some kind of problem. Maybe we can make them both. We will have to decide when we get together Monday.

I am planning on being at Hamburg Race Track on Tuesday and out to Perry on Thursday.

We got some nice runs going next week. Hope we get a good attendance. Summer is so short and we need to make up for the lousy June

I think Duff's is having a problem with their outdoor liquor liscense, I remember they had people signing a petition about trying to get it renewed or something

Sounds great so far. If it's nice and sunny out, my girlfriend is a professional photographer (I'm one in training...) and can get shots of individual cars, and send prints for a small fee if desired! Could be a good opportunity for some people to have a nice shot of their cars. I will figure out what I want to bring for food. Right off the top of my head it would be brownies, chicken, and some sort of salad (or something like that). Oh and drinks. At least a few beers too (we paid for the ability to drink there if we so choose).

I am hoping sweet corn will be ready by then, and if it is, I would bring my outdoor cooker and a bunch of corn. Also bringing clams to cook on the grill and potato salad. I would think bring your own meat to cook and a dish to pass would work good.

As well, I'm throwing a b-day party for the husband next weekend -- which you are all more than welcome to attend!!! lol Either way, I'll pack up all the un-used plates, silverware, cups, ect. and bring it with us in case anyone runs short on that stuff. Might not have enough for everyone but just in case...

My wife and I will be there, Letchworth is one of our favorite cruisng destinations.
So I've tried to read throught this entire thread. can someone sumarize it for me, There is a ton of info here. It appears that everyone is meeting at the first parking lot inside Letchworth from Mt. Morris. Also it appears we are to send $5 to someone for the reservation fee.

Also is there a group heading from the Rochester area and meeting up someplace?

The WNY Stangs are planning to meet up with any Rochester/Syracuse Stangs in Batavia at the Jubilee store around 10:00 am so we can cruise into Letchworth together. Or you can just meet up with everyone at the Mt. Morris entrance around 10:30-11:00 am.

In the event that it were to rain on the 2nd and people decide not to participate, we thought it would only be fair that we each send $5 by the 27th to SilverSpy0 to cover the cost of the shelter and alcohol permit. I think he would prefer paypal but maybe he could post his address so people could send a check or money order if they choose. SilverSpy0 would you mind posting your address?

Yea, the Jubilee in Batavia at 10AM sounds fine. If I can remember where that is... I think how we left it was being at the dam parking lot (haha) at 11am ish till whenever to wait for everyone, to then cruise down to the shelter site. Sorry to those coming up from the south if there are any. $5 from each car should be fine, then it will be $6 to get in to the park per car, plus food (whatever you're bringing). So try to factor all that in. I can bring a contribution jar or something, so we're not spending money on postage, but my address is: Ben Patterson, 470 Genesee Park Blvd, Rochester, NY 14619. Could someone volunteer to bring a bunch of charcoal??? Please, nothing with lighter fluid already in it, that's nasty! And this is a carry in, carry out park, so we're going to have to figure out the garbage thing. I will bring some heavy plastic bags.

EDIT: Oh, and as far as rain, a lot of us will still be going, you decide if you want to (or can) drive your Mustang or not. I will in either case, it's a DD.
