lowering the stang..

well this winter I plan to lower my car. I am not sure of everything I need to do it. I am looking at a few different brands of springs and i figure it will drop the car close to 1.25-1/5 inches. What else will I need? CC plates... New shocks(what brand??) looking at x2 ball joints.... am i missing anything?

Bump steer kit. and look into coil overs you have infinite hight adjustments and if you buy adjustable shocks you can tune for street, strip, or daily driving. and I have the front coil over kit from upr and its pretty nice

yeah I thought about coil overs but honestly its my daily driver I just want a lowered look with a nice smooth ride. I took it down the track 3 times this year to kick my buddys ass in his daytona charger. Hows this bumpsteer kit work?

I'm looking into lowering mine to so i'll be keeping my eye on this thread haha But from what I've heard if you want coilovers you should go with Maximum Motorsports but they are pricey

i see alot of people use tokico and strange shocks n struts for quick adjustments...but as far as springs i usually see BBK,Eibach and Steeda but i don't know much about the differences. Latemodelrestoration.com had a few packages last time i looked that might give you more info depending on what kind of setup your going for.

UPR makes great products i use their front end kit with the coil over conversion and it feels great and they have everything you need!

^there stuff really is nice and ive heard a lot of good things about tokico struts I'm thinking about getting there illumina series for my supra and the bump steer is for when a car is dropped you cab keep the stock steering angles so it still rides nice

Coilovers is the better way to go , trust me i had a 98 and now i have an 09 its the best to get when lowering a car

If you have the money H&R springs are nice, probably one of the best.

This has H&R Super Sport I think but must not have isolators in it...

also runs 9's on stock block with turbo....love this car

no need to worry I am just trying to figure out what all i will need and if it helps out other people good deal!

I have been looking at the h&r springs i really like the stance of the car from pictures I have seen. Anyone else have pictures of their cars with different lowering springs?

I had money set aside for lowering my car with some other suspension stuff, but had to use that money else where. But I plan on getting the Strange 10 way adjustable shocks/struts (from Summit), I did get the Eibach pro kit springs and isolators though (CJ Pony Parts renamed it, same thing just a lot cheaper!), and then some CC plates.
If you haven't upgraded the rear control arms yet, I strongly suggest you do. I did the uppers and lowers this summer and they made a huge difference.

I wouldn't mind being a touch lower, however I've had cars that scrape on a dime and for once in my life I can get a car in the garage without scraping oilpan/exhaust/rockers etc. which is nice lol.

Ive used gr2's on many cars. Very good/cheap shock. Can't beat it for the money
