I want to put new mufflers on my 1989 GT. It's completely stock with a stock catalytic converter. The two options I am debating between are the Flowmaster Super 44 series or the Original 40 series. I've been looking around to see what people think is better, but I keep getting conflicting information. What do you think is best and why? I'm looking to make it louder and have a deep sound, but I don't want a lot of drone if possible.

On my 88 i had BBK long tube headers, BBK off road h-pipe and flowmaster 40 series, the car was loud and you could here it coming from a mile away, i loved it, but it did have a deep low drone to it, you couldnt hear yourself think, on my new car, the 93, i have OBX headers, BBK h-pipe and super 44's on it, the drone is next to gone, it is quite when at idle or cruising but will open up when you get into it, makes for a nice deep tone that is very streetable, if you want a sleeper but a nice low tone, do the 44's, i have had all the systems over the years on years from 87-93 and the super 44 series is by far the best for a nice exhaust with a nice deep tone but not alot of drone inside when cruising
