Today I finished assembling the steering column. I also finished removing the old black paint from the engine side of the l/s shock tower, rear inner fender panel, & both frame rails.

Today I removed the steering box & all of the old steering linkage. I also removed the old black paint from the engine side of the r/s shock tower & rear inner fender panel.

The bolt pattern is 5X4.5. How about 225/60R-15?. I run 225/70R-14 Cooper Cobra tires on my 68/69 GT factory rims & have about 1" clearance from the tire to the spring in the rear & out to the quarter panel lip. Now that also depends on what backspacing the rims you are going to use have.

Today I assembled the steering column as far as I could go, I am waiting on the upper bearing. I finished cleaning the old undercoating from the l/s inner fender panels, shock tower, frame rail, & fire wall. I also drilled the holes in the shock tower for the Shelby/Arning upper control arm drop.

Today I finished painting the rest of the pieces for the steering column.

Painted the steering column housing, & the two pieces of the turn signal switch housing, & got about 1/2 of the drivers side front inner fender panels & shock tower to bare metal.

Thanks for the kind words of encouragement everyone. My goal is to have it running & driving under its own power by its 50th birthday which is 11/25/18. I still have to do the suspension, steering, brakes, engine build, wiring, rear springs, new rear gears, & then reassemble, & by my time line...

Today I finished disassembling the steering column so I can clean it up, replace any damaged parts, repaint it, & reassemble it.
