efi pump has too much pressure, do you have a regulator on it set down to around 6-7psi? If not you are forcing too much fuel into the carb and flooding it. a better choice for a in tank stock style pump is for a mid 80's cfi pump that puts out about 13-15 psi then use a regulator to bring it...

I used 15x8 4.5 backspace with 275/60's. had to roll the lip to keep from rubbing. I also changed control arms and removed the quad shocks. 255/60's fit without rubbing but were too short for my gears. hope this helps.

What is the tune up like? Do you have a bad/crossed/arcing plug wire or a cylinder down?

It's going to be a lot of work to remian emiooion compliant in NYS. You would need a 4.6 wiring harness and ecu for the F150. The vin numbers in the computer wont match the truck's vin so it would'nt pass state inspection with out going through the State refree station. Lots of luck with that...

If you want to play you have to pay. Make sure to have the rotating assembly balanced to live at that kind of rpm. nothing like seeing a motor shake itself apart.

no stock efi fuel shut off is 6250. do your homework and spec the parts to work together. spring rates have to match cam profile to sustain rpm. yes you could wing a stock roller to 65 or 6800 but it would float like a mother.

Did a small solid flat tappet 306 launched at 4800 and shifted at 6800. still running with stock roller in my Ranger. as long as everything is set up right rpm is not an issue.

I have the originals, they need work. hole in right front and some gouges in rear, there when I got the car. don't know if I raelly like the body kit I got cheap. would like to go to cobra or R nose.

Find a good machine shop. It would be a good idea to have it balanced. Keep the compression ratio where you need it for your boost level. Good luck.
