Why is it better to get the whole motor? cheaper?

I was asking for the manifold and heads from a explorer 5.0 and i told him that it was from 1996 to like 1998. He was like no i need the actual production date b/c each one is different and it might not fit and I don't want you keep coming back if they don't fit. Will they all fit on my motor?

I just tried calling some junkyards and they keep asking me for the production date. Does anybody know what it is?

I figures that it was a good deal seeing that the manifolds sell for about at least $200 and I thought the heads would be about that price too but what do I know lol thanks for the help

I found two explorer engines that I'm thinking of buying. One has the gt40 manifold and heads and is $500. Another one has gt40p heads and cobra manifold and is $600 and further away. Would any of these be good investments and which one would be better?

I have another question. What years did the explorers have the gt40 intake?

I'm looking for 4 center caps for the cobra r rims. They are 2.25 inches in diameter.
