My rebuild from start to finish

No more chassis rust so the complete car got a complete coat of epoxy primer. Next everything got a coat of rustolium and then a few layers of Raptor trunk bedliner. Let's see rust make its way back this time lol.

My rebuild from start to finish

This is the point I was sick of finding more and more rust and just started fixing the car without stopping to takes pics along the way. I replaced the shock towers, inner fender panels, battery apron and molded each piece including the shock towers into one. In this pic I found a relief in...

My rebuild from start to finish

Many, many, MANY hours later I wire wheeled the ENTIRE car down to bare metal. It became kinda therapeutic at times. I had my headphones on and just sat there. If I were to do it again this would have been the only thing I would have done differentialy. I would have sent the car out to be...

My rebuild from start to finish

Wanted to mold the tail light extensions and felt the 3 bolts would allow to much body flex and crack. I made a bracket that the inner side of the extension would rest on. Later I put a metal filler on the bracket and secured the extensions with the original bolts. Here is the bracket.

My rebuild from start to finish

Original hood unusable so I got a used hood from craigslist. Was a mach 1 hood with no shaker cut out and the holes where the wiring went through for the turn signals. Got a shaker hood template and cut the hole out, welded the other holes up.

My rebuild from start to finish

I posted the story behind my car in the new members intro but I will put it here again in case everyone didn't see it. My father and I bought a 69 fastback 10 years ago and started working on it together. Never worked on cars before so this was the car I learned on. 2 years into the rebuild...

Beautiful ride! The sheetmetal work is the hardest, once you finish that the car flies back together. If you need any help or info ask me.

New 6000k HID headlights installed on my cobra..

They look great! I went with a 6k kit for mine too. If they don't even out on brightness after a week you will have to start swapping parts from one side to tge other. Start with the bulbs and if the problem goes to the other side tell hidguy you need a replacement bulb.

Good memory lol! I am lucky if I remember my name half the time. I helped him finish his car a few years ago. His is a lot more original than mine.
