Need help fixing a chip in paint

I've got a chip on the front of my hood about the width of a quarter. I'm worried it'll rust out. Is there an easy fix or should I bite the bullet and pay someone to fix it? I have no experience with this and may be more likely to cause more damage. I saw this on tv and made me think it might...

    v6 to v8 swap

Inspection would be a problem if your trying to pass it off as a v6 for insurance. I'm pretty sure any reputable place will identify a v8. you could supercharge it and not tell your insurance. less work too.

    Cold Air Intake?????

I accidentally reset mine last year messing around with the mycolor thing and it was telling my 12mpg for a while. It took a while for it to go back up to 19, that and I'm not sure how accurate that message center is in the first place. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

    Cold Air Intake?????

could be driving city also it is colder out, I get poor mileage in the winter probably from letting the car warm up. I don't think the tune or the octane should be a factor. A tune usually increases mileage a bit. What kind of mileage are you getting?

    Cold Air Intake?????

Go for the 93! Yea forgot to mention the dash will go crazy with errors. The automatic shifts really nice, I have the performance tune for 3.73 gears and I can chirp my tires all the way the to third. Apps224, I'm surprised AM gave you a hard time about that.

    2012 with 2 keys??

I would want to mod it, especially being a track car, it seems like it could be a good platform as long as the ECU doesn't cause issues.

    2012 with 2 keys??

    Cold Air Intake?????

Get the tuner! Worth every penny. I ran without a tune for a couple of days after getting my CAI and dual exhaust done, didn't really notice too much of a gain. The tune is definitely going to make the difference especially on an automatic. Get an SCT tuner from AM they will give you free tunes...

    Cold Air Intake?????

Hahaha cool, now you can get 93 for the race, they're free tunes for life from AM if you buy SCT, so you should be able to call them up and get another if you wanted.

    Cold Air Intake?????

you should be fine, unless it caused a fitment issue... but you should have plenty of room. Do you get any whistle from it?

    Cold Air Intake?????

Yea street would probably be your best bet then. Did you check Sunoco? they might have it, but what you've got there looks good, just remember changing up a grade of octane you should run your tank low, almost empty before filling up to the higher grade. You don't want knocking

    Cold Air Intake?????

You can choose whatever octane you want, they'll give you three tunes; street, performance, and race, you can choose octane levels for all three. I have street with 87, I never use it but, it's supposed to give you low end power. I have performance and race on 93. I use performance daily, you...

Not driving the Stang this winter

If the battery is out and everything is forgotten on the computer, should I return the car to a stock tune?

    Cold Air Intake?????

so its more of a not "required" but you still probably should. I have a Steeda cold air and if I put it to stock I can run it but I will get errors saying too lean. "checking your fuel trims" what's that and how do you do it?

    Cold Air Intake?????

I like K&Ns honesty with horsepower, The S&B is cool looking with that window thing. Both don't require tunes which makes me wonder how much different they are from a stock airbox.
