91 Notch build at Hennessey Performance's TunerSchool

I've been in Texas for the past few months taking part in the TunerSchool Program at Hennessey Performance in Houston. I drove my notch all the way down there and decided it was time get some mods in since I had the space, tools and lifts available while a Venom GT was being built next to me. Just to give you guys a heads up this thread might be a little slow because I'm still figuring out all the stuff I want to do but it'll come together.

After class hours we're all allowed to work on our own cars. so the first thing that came to my mind was tubular control arms and rear discs time!

Control arm bolts were rusted and stuck; PB blaster made no difference so I went with the other option, thank God for the new hardware that came with the arms.

When that was done it was time to take out the the drums. (I don't have too many pictures because I needed to go as fast as I could while still making sure I did it right). Had to drill to fit the brackets for the new lines to the calipers and flare the original line to thread in to the unions. I got all these parts in a kit from Latemodelrestoration.com, new axles, rotors, Cobra style calipers, Cobra Master Cylinder, Ford Racing Proportioning valve, and lines, Everything was a great fit! they have a great write up for the whole install on their website.

Nice upgrades! Are you looking into opening up your own tune/dyno shop? Did you go with a bigger brake booster, like the 93 Cobra or the 94-95 brake booster?

Maybe at some point, and no the brake booster is stock just 03 cobra Master cylinder, bolts right up, because the calipers are 03 cobra single piston style calipers. This setup will definitely work without swapping out the master cylinder at all, but in case I do a Cobra 2 piston caliper swap for the front, I'm already set and it makes the pedal a little easier to press than when using the stock MC with four calipers.

I decided I wanted to work on my interior because I'm not a fan of the complete Porno red interior, also the carpet had some stains (didn't smell so good either), and I needed to take the carpet out anyway because, since the car was originally an automatic, the previous owner had to do some work to the trans tunnel and it was not the best.

This is what the interior was like when I got it

I changed the steering wheel a few months after getting the car because I do not like the airbag steering wheel for the foxbodies, I don't really like any of the fox steering wheels, so I went with a Grant Challenger, which I am crazy about. (Don't have any pics of the install tho).

For the carpet swap and trans tunnel fix the first thing I did, of course, was remove the center console and the carpet. Again LatemModelRestoration.com has videos and everything you need to make sure you don't break anything. That helped.

I then got to work on the tunnel. The previous owner butchered it when cutting the bigger opening for the shifter. So I just cleaned all that up and installed the auto to manual tunnel hump (again from LateModelRestoration.com). It's a great piece and doesn't have to be welded (I riveted mine), the previous owner put a towel to fill the gap (I only realized that when taking the center console apart).

The tunnel hump came as a kit with the lower shifter boot and all the necessary hardware (rivets, bolts, etc...)

After that, I cleaned up all the debris, started putting the carpet in place (went with Black for a Black and Red scheme) and started cutting openings.

I'll post more pictures when the center console is back in.

Oh ok, I saw some guys that did the disc brakes at the four corners and they had to upgrade the brake booster to a bigger one because the pedal was pretty hard and like an all or nothing from the brakes.

The interior is looking good. I spruced mine up this year too. Getting rid of the old carpet is a big help.
