nitrous or supercharger

so im having the huge debate over nitrous or a procharger i purchased the gt 40 tubular intake with a 70mm tb and it came with a nitrous plate to. picked it up for a smoking deal 370 shipped to my door so since i already have the plate should i just but a kit and run it or sell it and save up for a procharger.. they will be ran on a freshly rebuild 306 with Keith black hyper. pistons

I'm a nitrous guy but with hyper pistons I would put a supercharger on it. Nitrous is also great for racing but if it's a nice driver it's hard to beat boost.

Supercharger! The nitrous would be cheaper unless you find yourself being nitrous happy and go through the bottles pretty quick, lol.

Most of the miles are on the street, so go with the blower.

i had a blower on one car and tried nitrous on my other...nitrous imo is a waste, power only when on button, not very controllable when turning, plus very dangerous in a street car, and illegal w/ a filled bottle!

i loved my supercharger, power all the time and great gas mileage to boot when off boost...but finances force sale of my vortech v2 s-trim

so if ur interested, im very negotiable, want cash, but open to parts+cash, or a running 4cyl stang+cash, lemme know, see ad for details on charger

I would start off with a basic wet nitrous system. Much, much cheaper! You can always remove it and go to a S.C. down the road.

I like being able to stay N/A most of the time, then use the juice as needed. Also, nothing like purging (sight & sound) for deterrence against some punk messing with ya on the street.

I like superchargers but I am maybe a little biased. I have owned Powerdyne and Vortech and have installed Paxton, Vortech, Powerdyne, and Kenne Bell on 5.0 stangs and my LX had a ProCharger before as well.

I installed nitrous on my cousin's 89 GT years ago but he got sick of filling the bottle all the time. To do a nice setup right with a bottle warmer, gauges, purge, etc. it is almost the cost of a used SC.

I will agree with you about getting sick of always filling the bottle.
The reason I now run twin NX carbon fiber 12 lb bottles in the trunk.
But, I still have to fill them!

The common misconception is that a nitrous system is way cheaper than any other power adder. Sure, the kit is a lot cheaper...........but what about the rest of the stuff you will need to do it properly?
Bottle heater
Burst fitting
Blow down tube
Timing controller
Pressure gauge
Wiring a complete system
RPM window switch
Purge
etc.....
It all adds up fast but there is a right way and wrong way to do a nitrous system. Most don't realize until they get involved with the install, and some don't care.

Anyways, I used to have nitrous and just like Dave and Phil mentioned, got sick of refilling bottles. It always seemed to run out when I needed it most
The initial cost of nitrous is lower, but once you start adding all the accessories, like Doug said, and the cost of refilling the bottles in the long run might not be the cheapest option. Besides you can find A LOT of nice, used superchager kits going for $1500-2k or sometimes even less! Save a little more and go with a blower.
