GM HAS THE TURNS, GT500 HAS THE LINE... no contest, the chevy engine dates back year to the old L series in VETTE. ITS NOTHING NEW.shelby 5.8l supercharged and BAD BOY MOVING.
why make something new, that works?
GM took a single cam, pushrod motor and made it a animal. Its lighter, cheaper to mod and easy to get big gains. The LS series of motors are the most popular motors in the world. How many Fox bodys that are set up for drag racing, have had a LSx motor swapped into them? The LSx motors have made it into every car. I have seen them in porches, supra's even so much as Evo's and rx8's and wrx's. Obviously GM did something right with their out dated power plants. Then ontop of that, they have their LSX line that builds motors to handle 2700hp+. Same old design.
Look at the Z06 and the zr1. Same old damn design. Hell, they even still have leaf spring suspension, yet they are a force to be reckoned with.
that being said, I wouldnt buy either car. The price tag on both is nearly in the C6 Z06 zone.
