x pipe

my friend has a 96 gt with stock headers, stock h pipe and a loudmouth exhaust. he bought a pypes offroad x-pipe with the mil eliminators and needs help installing both. how would i go about doing these two? would the x pipe just bolt in place of the h pipe? what about the mils? thank you. i need these answered by tomorow so i could help him do it...thanks guys

is it the pypes splice in pipe?

If it is the splice in have to first connect it to the rear of the exhaust and then press it against the where the h-pipe is and measure and cut the the hpipe.

wear goggles when your under the car as soon as you touch that exhaust shit is going to fall down also, if the car had to be turned on and the exhaust is hot hit it with some nice cold water from a garden hose thats how i did mines

Also get some bricks or wood to hold up the x-pipe while your installing it

I put an X pipe on my 04 and it was a b**ch, we put one on my buddies 98 GT and it was a piece of cake except the passenger's front manifold bolt required a flex head attachment. The MIL's aren't bad.. Plugs in pieces are just that, splice in's aren't bad and it is only 4 wires total. just make sure they are crimped tight or else they will pull out.

alright thank u guys...can i put the rear on ramps and jack the front? or vice versa?

You can't use most ramps on the front because the bumper hits them. Just jack it up and support it all around with stands. The more room you have the easier it is. If you know someone with a lift it would be a LOT easier.

ok we're gunna get 4 jack stands...and where are these positioned so that the car is secure?

Def jack and stands on the front. You may or may not find it easier to remove the front passengers side wheel to get that one stubborn nut off. The back doesn'r really matter stands or ramps. When we did it we put the back on stands on the axle and the front on stands on the k member. Just remember the swivel socket head or you'll kick yourself in the ass and be careful not to strip it as well. When I did my 04 GT I stripped it and had to weld onto the nut to get it off. Just use plenty of PB blaster and you'll be fine.

like he side k member and frame you will see it once u jack the car up remember two jacks are better then one

PB Blaster is always a friend of mine, but not rusty bolts.

do what i do get sum lumber and make a less elevated ramp but get wide lumber you dont want to slip off of it ......
