Where does the Terminator line up in GMOAT?

I just read an article in Automobile Magazine about the Top 10 Mustangs of all time. I agreed with some but not with all of them. Im suprised the 03/04 cobra isnt on the list, I felt it was a huge break out for ford when the Terminators were introduced. Why does the 2001 Mustang Bullit make the list and not the Terminator?

Has anybody else seen this magazine, what do you guys think?

From what I heard the SVO wasnt what it was made out to be and I dont think an LX should be on the GMOAT list... but thats my opinion!

Think about how successful the 5.0's were and still are today between sales and the aftermarket...

i think it is due to them being made for 2 years and having so many problems..especially the 03..in 03 they were having problems with the cyl bank 3 n they were all recalled just about as soon as they came out.

i know you are gonna hate me but as a former termi owner they are great cars but they are not the best of the best..when it comes to all around..what do i mean? think about everyone that has a termi n how many miles they have. n yes it is usually because they want to keep miles down but the termi as bullit proof as it is starts to give problems at high mileage..just my 2 cents i may be completely wrong but thats based not on me running my mouth but being around them and doing research.

I have NO issue's with the 84-86 SVO's, 87-93 LX's or 1995 Cobra R!!!!!!

Without the 87-93 5.0 Mustang's, we probably wouldn't have the Pony cars we have today!!!!!

Thats true, the more I think about it the 87-93 did set it off. BUT, how is the terminator excluded from this list?

Ive seen terminators on SVTP do 100 mph pulls with over 100k miles and will never have any issues with the car! Just like any other car, if you take care of it, it will take care of you! Out of the 3 cobras I have owned, my silver 10th is by far the best of the 3. Think about how much of a break through it was for ford when these monsters came out...

also remember even though it is big car guys doing the testing they complained about the whine from the supercharger and the head tick (old age means less noise..lol)....but that could be due to the age of most of those guys but it may be the same guys doing these test's..idk

I think the Termi would have been on the list had the Z28 and the WS6 hadn't been discontinued because it would have established the Mustang dominance but instead it just sat there without its main rivals.

Guys have gone 9's on the stock motor without lifting a valve cover. A production car with forged internals that can handle over 600rwhp and run consistent 10's with a tire? I don't see too many other cars that stickered for 35k new that can do that.

Read "Iron Fist, Lead Foot" to truly understand what went into making these cars. Not sure how anyone who's actually owned one could think they aren't near the top of the list.

great cars but they had there flaws even the main thing that made them bad ass..(the supercharger) was one of the main things complained about..meaning, not power but the noise..read the reviews, which one? all of them n ford20 has a point as well.

im not saying its not a bad ass car or am i saying it doesnt deserve a award for all it acomplished..i am sticking to facts and not what they are capable of im talking about reviews and test done..

i personally love the cobra, who doesnt? but it had its flaws according to the reviews not me..n according to the reviews they didnt make the list so its not about if they can handle 100hp or if they can handle 15million hp its about reviews n the reviewers feelings ....n thats the end of my two cents...lol

^^^ Listen, all of the Pony's on the list above have had some kind of flaw!!! Bottom line, Ford put together a great package with the 03-04 Cobra...we should of had a car like this back in (at least) 1993!!

Head tick or no head tick, still should be on the top 10 list!!!

I really don't think comparing the termi to the z28/TA is all too fair seeing as there was a pretty decent price gap between the two.
top of the line camaro was SS, not Z28 for 4th gen

Im a little biased but i have owned a 86GT,88GT,87GT vert,93GT,97cobra Vert, sonic blue 03 cobra coupe, black 04 cobra vert,and my current 04 OW vert....all 3 cobras made 600+rwhp....and easily did so. The Terminator should be in the top 5 IMO...it re-ignited the pony wars.

^^^^ I hear what your saying Blwn04 ...I've owned 23 Fox Body Mustang's, a 2005 Mustang GT and my current 2 Cobra's .... Hands down my current rides are a great all-around car!
