Want to lower my V6 a bit

Hey guys,

Wondering if you can help me figure out the best plan of attack for lowering my 2012 V6. Currently I have a completely stock suspension but I am looking to lower it maybe 1-1.5 inches so it doesn't look so much like a 4x4 vehicle.

I've been eyeing the Ford Racing V6 coupe handling pack which would include everything I need but that's upwards of $1k so that's a no-go. I did see that AM has the Ford Racing N Springs for pretty cheap.

This would be the first suspension mod I've ever done on a vehicle so here's my main question. Do you think it would be alright if I ran with the stock struts and shocks and just got the N springs to lower it a bit? I don't think AM sells the FRPP struts and shocks separately anyway. Am I going to destroy my stock struts and shocks by doing this? Also, since the N springs only give a 1.25-inch drop will I still need to get caster camber plates? Then there's always the panhard bar. Gahhh I hate all this crap. lol

The K-Springs are the most popular of the bunch and even with the N springs people still think their car has a bit of a 4x4ish look at times. They are a little bit more but they drop the car the perfect amount IMO.

You can run your stock shocks and struts, I have seen a lot of people do just spring swaps for the time being and are fine. I would do those in the future but you don't have to do them just now.

From what I have gathered you should always do CC plates if you do something to lower your suspension to try and get the geometry of it back in line but that is just word of mouth.

The springs are all interchangeable for S197 models, you can run any spring made for the S197 from 05 on up to 12. Its up to you the N-Springs are good, some people are satisfied with the drop some aren't and switch to K springs. As far as will it be enough, it is more an aesthetic choice than anything else as most of the handling improvements are going to be seen in other areas of the suspension. Not to say that springs aren't going to help because they will a lot.

You can run the stock shocks and struts if you want to,lots of people just change the springs out.As far as camber plates go,again alot of people just use camber bolts that you can get for around $40 bucks or so.Panhard bar isnt really that expensive,I got mine for $112 shipped to my house.All depends on your budget.I decided to replace the springs, shocks,struts panhard bar and get camber plates but it was about 900 bucks and I caught some sales otherwise would have been a couple of hundred more

I've got eibach pro-kit springs, shocks, struts, and sway bars and a panhard on my 12 v6. Handling is awesome! And looks great. I was just running the springs before and it was fine, no problems.
