The Drive Network’s “Big Muscle” takes a look at a different muscle car every week, and in currently in the spotlight is this 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback owned by Greg Smith. This isn’t your typical ’67 Mustang, as Smith has converted it to a full drag setup complete with a 393 Windsor stroker motor, 8-point roll cage, Currie 9-inch rear end with 4.10 gears, B&M ratchet shifter and 15-inch Fenton drag wheels with Mickey Thompson drag slicks out back and skinnies up front. The car is capable of 11.4 second quarter mile times on all motor, or a 10.2 with a 150 shot of nitrous.
Throughout the video host Mike Musto has some fun with the ’67 Mustang around some of Southern California’s back roads (tires were undoubtedly harmed in the making of this film), and makes the case that this car represents the essence of the 1960s muscle car craze. It’s definitely worth a watch, if anything just to see and hear a ’67 Mustang in action. Just click the play button below and enjoy.
