valve covers... do i need a fill tube??

just got some for racing valve covers and they came with a breather for the one side. What in the world do I do about putting oil in the damn car? I know the trick flows have an oil fill tube... how about these??

Those are not EFI valve covers, that is why they are like that. On the older cars the PCV goes in that cover with the grommet. I would get some EFI covers.

But he will still have 2 holes when he only needs one. I am not a huge fan of this chrome covers anyways. I like the aluminum ones they seal better and quiet down some of the valve train noise.

If you want chrome these are better...

well... i was going to get a set that I could get powder coated along with my new intake. I just happened to find the chrome ones and jumped on them. I think chrome on the engine compartment would be a PITA to keep clean.... thanks for the heads up though.. not sure what I want to do just yet

Yes you can if you want, I prefer not too on a street car. You will run a little leaner at idle/cruise because a breather introduces unmetered air into the engine. A lot of my friends have ran breathers, I prefer to keep the closed PCV setup myself. There is a lot of debate on this subject and many posts on corral.net and all the other forums as well. The cars I have ran breathers on had no PCV valve.

A stock boot is probably going on it, these Taylor wires are way too long hence the ways they are routed. I kinda wish I had gotten some Live Wires like I had on my 93 GT they were perfect.

i think we are going to cut a hole and add (weld) in a fill tube up front but leave a breather at the rear. and then seal off the other side and paint them a similar blue to my cars exterior. Any thoughts on a good paint to do this? I was looking at some engine paint at the parts store...

You will need to sandblast all the chrome off the covers. There really is no need for a breather but that is totally up to you.

i dont need a breather in the cover at all? the new fill tube doesnt have a breather in it at all its just a tube with a cap

Not there really isn't a need for one. With an EFI car with a MAF sensor it introduces unmetered air as well which will lean the car out. Most people don't realize it though. If you are getting the car tuned it is not a huge deal but I prefer the stock PCV setup with a good OEM Ford valve. If you have blowby issues then use a catch can.
