v6 engine bay ...

OK heres the thing ... I need pictures of an 05-09 engine bay specifically around the intake ... and even more specific a stock intake ... when ever it snows my car gets to bucking and kicks into FAIL mode ... (you know the little stoopit wrench lights up and bingo ... no power ... SHUT IT gt owners) ... I think that there are some pieces to my air box missing or I'm missing a splash shield or something ... Oh and save the "don't drive it in the snow" comments ... not helpful !!! :nono:

Thanks Sal ... I need to know what the end of the air box looks like that points to the outside of the car ... Here is a picture of what the problem is that I am trying to solve

I am getting a CRAP load of snow into the engine bay JUST on the outer edge (almost like I am missing splash shields) ... on both sides of the car.

i think the 05-09s did that, they added a shroud in '10.
i'll look later, but the snow shouldn't hurt anything

Mine doesn't do that ... Gimmie a minute and Ill crawl into the rat space in my garage and look for my old intake and take some pictues ... That is if I still have it

Sal do you remember if there was a snorkle or something attached to the airbox ?? FYI I think that my air filter was not laying flat in there ... I think its straightened out now ... no bucking today even in the snow

Snow should not effect the car.

It is just air that is flowing, and unless the whole box is under water, it will not effect anything.

I am at a loss about your problem, hope you get it worked out.




p.s don't drive in the snow

It looks like the air silencer was removed- it shouldnt have any effect in the snow. not sure what the dizzle is.

LOL dick ... I think that the air filter was not laying flat and therefore not sealing ... I think the snow was getting sucked up into the intake and taking a swing at the MAF on the way through.

Theres no extend piece ont he 05-09 just a small piece at the end of the intake
