If your buying the car for just the 1/4 panels, Id suggest not doing that. Youd be paying a good amount for 1/4's, not to mention you need to pay someone to remove them properly, and at the end of the day they are used 1/4's. Id suggest buying new panels if youre that hellbent.

It was a $250 shell with perfect quarters and floors (I dont need floors) so it wouldnt have been a big investment.
Nobody makes new quarters for these cars yet and Ive already had patches put in but the bodywork doesnt seem to be holding up too well.

How does no one make 1/4's for it? What did they use to do when they came out and one got smashed in the side, they must have produced 1/4's for these things..

Yeah, back when the car was new Ford sold them but they only have to sell parts for 10 years after a model year. There arent any aftermarket 1/4's available now. Same for your car.
Im sure in a few years there will be more panels like 1/4's being made for Fox bodies because there seems to be more and more new parts coming out for them but until then ones off another car are all there is.

Anyway Im getting the car tomorrow and Im cutting it up.

not likely, its whacked in the front from what Ive been told.
I havent seen the car but its a wreck thats been stripped down to a shell and its good in the rear.

i do classic car resto and the only reason my mustang got redone was because i got to learn and do it for free legit free i only had to buy primer and paint. the quarters on these cars are a pita and unless you do it yourself say goodbye to 10 to 15 grand.

Ive removed and helped hang quarters before when I worked at a bodyshop, just not on a Mustang.

Ive got a few friends that will be able to help me when the time comes but right now Im not planning on doing it for a while.

before you cut apart your car do some reasearch on it.... as i said theres alot more to the conversion than just slapping a set of notch 1/4s on it..

I just decided to replace a 1/4 or two and fix up the body instead of swapping everything into another car that probably also needs paint and bodywork.
With the exception of a few scratches and small dings the body on my car is good besides the right 1/4 that has some bubbles.
The paint sucks though.

yeah, it really needs it anyway. Theres scrapes on the front bumper, chips and dings on the hood and the doors have shitty tape lines.
