tring to figure out rough idle

My car lately has a rough idle and I want to try to smooth it out. The car has 34k miles. I have already changed the plugs to the NKG TR6 (copper) #4177 plugs. All of the plugs that I pulled out looked ok with no sings excess ware (oil or gas). In the intake tube there was a small amount of oil, so I'm going to get a one way check valve and a new pvc plug and fab up an oil catch can. So where should I start.

i responded on svtp also...try NGK TR7IX's or motorcraft sp71 = asgf 12's

12-14psi gap @ .35
14-16psi gap @ .34
16-18psi gap @ .32
18+psi gap @ .30 (-.1 for every lb of boost there after)

Thanks, some times its easier to get answers on svtp. If I go with the TR7's and have stock boost I should gap them at .35 or at .36?

I gap mine at 0.032"...when was the last time the Fuel Filter was changed?

I haven't changed the filter yet and if the spark plugs (plugs had paint on the tips so I think they are original) that I pulled are any indication of the how the previous owner took care of the car, the filter is probably original. Is it extremely hard to change it out? I know the IRS is in the way.

I gapped the TR6's at 35", do you think that this may be adding to the idle problems?

^^^ I'd say no on the gap...Change the filter!

.35 shouldnt be giving u idle prob's, stock TB? Did you check the TPS voltage

I'm going the change the fuel filter this weekend and check the TPS voltage. The idle seems to be getting a little better the more i drive though.
