Tremec T5 Transmission problems?

Towards the end of the season, I started to experience some shifting issues in my 07 GT. Any time I would shift hard on a launch, or try to shift into reverse, it just wouldn't cooperate as usual. I thought 40K on the odometer was way to early to have clutch problems, so I purposely tried to put a load on the transmission to see if I could slip it. No go. No slip whatsoever. I mentioned this to the transmission shop that installed my 4.10 rear end earlier in the year and they said if I couldn't get the clutch to slip under a load chances were that there is an internal issue with the transmission. They mentioned a "stop bearing, or bushing??" (can't quite remember what they said) may be the culprit, but without tearing down the tranny there was no way of diagnosing it.

Does anyone know, or has anyone had a problem other than a clutch disc with their T5 tremec?

Thanks for the correction on the model...Are these tell tale signs of an eminent blow up? I don't even like driving t the way it is right now and want to solve the problem before the car comes out of storage.

whats it doing ? mine was grinding into 2nd and now 2nd is completely gone for the 3rd time. most times i hear of people losing 3rd gear :idk:

i would say its f'd. ford wanted $1800 for bearings, synchros and 2nd gear pieces. newtakeoff.com sells complete 3650's for 699.99 plus shipping. or go with something completely different - tko500 or a lot of people do the 6 speed swap - tr6060

I'd consider the 6 speed, but with 4.10's I would worry about 1st. The traction at launch is perfect right now. My transmission guy said that if you could even buy parts they would be big $$$. I will look into the tko500, not familiar with it.

Thanks for the help. I was hoping to add another mod this winter, but it looks like repairs are going to eat the budget up. I am due for brakes and was thinking of an upgrade, but I guess a regular brake job is all she'll get.

I still run the 3650 in my mach and I had a similiar issue. It ended up being overfilled with fluid. I drained it and refilled it with redline atf. Use the tremec website for the exact fill level. Ford recommends 3.2 quarts, I think. TREMEC recommends 2.7. I filled it the way tremec said to and I haven't had a problem since. My car has had numerous hard launches with the spray and it never skipped a beat. Oh, Tremec rates the trans to 360 ft. lbs. My car puts down 480 ft. lbs.

there are a ton of service bulletins saying that they are overfilled from the factory, but it didnt solve a single problem with mine. still blew up 3 times

^^ thats what im tryin to get at... they are garbage transmissions. doesnt matter if you have 2 qts or 100 qts. they will blow up. the tr3650 in the mach isnt the same as the one in the 05+ either

Ford rebuilt mine under premium care warranty and I had 50k on it. Main shaft bearing was shot. You'd hear grinding and would get vibration letting off the clutch in 1st and 2nd.
Shit trans for sure.
