will not shift into gear . high speed into merging traffic. 32 cases have been reported. ford is cooperating with national highway safety. 2010 mustang and earlier no problems on this issue. this is the 6 spd maual transmission.THIS COULD BE A NASTY.:eek:hsnap::banghead:

it sucks, Ford made such and nice engine then goes and outsources a Chinese company to make their manual transmissions :thumbsdown: what did they expect?

the new transmission they said was real smooth. another mouse in the computer designs. this would also affect the 2013?:cussing::mechanic:

This has been around awhile, but ya now its serious that there's an official investigation. Thing is Ford wasn't sitting back ignoring it and trying figure out whats up and I haven't heard a peep out of Getrag. But unfortunately how contracts go this tranny will definitively be around up to 2014, hopefully though they can get those workers to stop putting their dumplings in for gears :p

yeah i agree , until we see mustang 3. as for GETRAG ??

Just to clear it up, the transmissions built in England and assembled in China. So really, it's the UK's fault.

Mine's fine. I have the correct fluid in it now and it shifts beautifully. Nicest transmission I've driven. Light years better than my '00GT which felt like a dump truck.

mine is a :picfail:
dump truck look at my garage pictures before the hail storm, 12000$ to rebuild. ins cost. i have the 5 speed. never assume the problem is in all of the builds until proven

For some people that TSB hasnt worked. I think it is something like 26,000+ people that have been affected by this/ Its about time Ford has steped up to the plate with this issue ... Now to worry about the #8 issue :eek:

I believe you, Im just wondering where did you get this info? Everything Ive seen in Business News and Ford News states China.

:inymnym:FORD IS COOPERATING WITH THE INVESTIGATION FULLY. in 2yrs mustang3 . this is already old news. 8 speed tranny on charger dodge then challenger later. my brother owned a 2010 challenger bought new. he found a problem that affected the v6 2008-2010. car would drop bellow 500 rpm and stall. DODGE BOUGHT THE CAR BACK AND SWAPPED HIM A 2011 WITH THE NEW SIX . NOFUNDS ADDED. THEY BOUGHT BACK THE CAR. THEY TRIED COMPUTER UPLOADS, ETC. CAR WAS SHIPPED BACK TO DETROIT FROM FLA. SOMETIMES WITH THESE CARS A LITTLE LUCK WILL DO .MUSTANG 3 LOVE IT OR HATE IT? thedesign says GM

Not 26,000 affected, that's the number of 6MT Mustangs that have been built so far (including V6's).

All MT82 components (for the Ford Transit, Range Rover and now the Mustang as well as a few others) are MADE in England, but the ones for the Mustang are then assembled in China.

It doesnt matter where its made. Cars and car parts are global. If its good ,great. If theres aproblem it will be dealt with by the manufacturer. :eek:hsnap:

NHTSA is investigating a ton of other vehicles from other companies, but none blown out of proportion like this. One is for tierod failures on Dodge trucks lol. Google NHTSA and investigations....

my brother has a fully loaded 2009 fusion .18 inch wheels spo:nym::popcorn:rt package. he had tire rod failure . car had low miles. ford replaced the rod. covered warranty. the mustang got the high headline on this because it is mustang.it is blown out of proportion.

Back in June I asked Ford about the MT 82 in the 2011--2012 GT's and the Boss. They just jerked me around. It's a shame, great engine and suspension package, POS tranny. For now will stick with my 09 GT 5spd.
