T5 Tranny

I'm looking at a T5 because I may swap it in my car since A) my auto is leaking like a mofo B)it's an auto and C)Maybe a 5.0 swap. Can I just swap the bell housing and input shaft and it will bolt up with my 2.3 for now?

I don't think they had to do anything with the input shaft, but did need the 2.3 bell housing.

Yeah, I know about the crossmember...also, the drive shafts are different lenghts. I'm just speaking in terms of bolting up to the actual motor. But thanks for the link, I'll check them out.

YES, you can use a 5.0 bellhousing and a 2.3 T-5 for now. I pounded my friends 88LX at the track to a 13.68 with slicks and stock gears still with one!

OH, ooops! I don't know of way to do that as the V8 input shaft is larger. You could just swap the input shaft out from one to the other though.

That's what I'm saying...are the input shafts and bellhousing the only things you have to change?
