If you wanted to run 10+lbs of boost, yea you are going to need internal engine work. With 5-9lbs you would be fine. If you want to do the SC swap you are much better off getting the whole motor and all. A supercharger tuned right and you should be fine. People blow built motors up with a bad tune. I'm not sure where you heard you couldn't SC it but..:smash:

as long as your engine is in good shape, i dont see why nont. even then, a low mile 3.8 or 4.2 shortblock is dirt cheap from a yard.
but at a fraction the cost, the PITA is sometimes worth it. plus instant torque kicks ass- like a big block, but with a cricket sound:smash:
boost isnt the problem- power is. the general concensus is that 350rwhp is the 'safe' limit for the internals. Ive seen a ton of people go 400+ with stock stuff, but most have a hell of a tune, not a canned one. but a stock engine can take about anything a M90 will throw at it.
MG33, I sent him a PM. also found his old thread- he was asking 450 for it, with you needing the gaskets and other small things. your AC also will either need to be replaced with supercoupe unit. but you got a vert, so throw the compressor in the garage and drop the top! Im waiting to see as to its availability and current state of completeness

350rwhp is alot of power for a 3.8. Yes power is the potenital issue, but most people throw boost #'s around. Bosst is just a measure of restriction, but no need to get into a huge discussion on that. I've SC'ed a half dozen cars and turboed a few as well.
Eaton's are fun for sure, if you have the time and skill to do the swap and then someone that can tune it thats not a bad option. I personally tune my own stuff.
Detonation is the killer in most all SC'ed engine failures, it happens with built motors even. That and cooked/cracked pistons from a lean A/F.
