Supercharger Question

Hey guys How's it going? I am thinking (like it's really just going through my mind) what are your opinions on supercharging ( 1.7 kenne bell that is) my 01 GT vert if it has like 96000 miles on it. I really love the whine the superchargers make and having more power is always great but would anything need to be replaced like major stuff? Thanks a lot.

Kenne Bell superchargers are top notch. I love the whine from a twin screw or roots style like Whipple. But also love the centrifugal superchargers that whistle lol, like Pro charger and Vortech. Honestly you'll be fine. I'd recommend upgrading the internals though if you plan on exceeding 400-450rwhp.

What does that mean upgrading the internals? I'm new in engine mods

Getting forged internals. Crankshaft, pistons, etc. And blower cams are always a good upgrade as well.

Probably a shop cause I'd want it to be professionally done just in case.

Well that depends if you want the intercooled or non intercooled Kenne Bell. 2.1L will cost you $3899 non intercooled. So I'd say around $6,000 to be safe.

If you're on a budget then this may be right up your alley. You can always get forged rods later down the road if you want to up the boost but with a safe tune you can have around 380rwhp without issue. The tune is key in longevity of your engine.
