Stroker kit

Hey guys, i'm thinking about getting a stroker kit for my 08 GT. I want to go from a 4.6 to a 5.0. Crank, cams the hole 9. Here is my question. What is a normal price to pay for the kit and install. The stroker kit I was thinking of getting is eagle brand, about $2700 without the cams. Reason I ask all this is because I got an OUTRAGOUSLY HIGH price from a shop around my way.

try going to ModularMustangracing.com my brother got a whole stroker short block that holds 950 hp for like 3400

to pull the motor tear down and check everything, machine the block and build, I'd say 2200-2700 is a fair ball park

what did that include?

my estimate is just for the labor no parts and assumes minimal issues.

It was for a 5.0 complete stroker kit with cams. Stroker kit was Eagle brand and the cams were comp cams. That was it. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Not sure about the cams. But even if you get the best parts made for that stroker kit it still should not be 14 grand. ?

it sounds high to me, that's why i'm asking. if the cams need new springs its a lot more man hours to do the swap

you can buy a crate engine for less than 14k :idk: thats the way id go if prices are really that high

Spray it! Nothing cools the intake charge your supercharger creates better than N2O.

a motor built with cams installed will run u around 8 grand.....with shop removing your motor tearing it down sending to machin e shop to have the stroker kit put in your block...mill heads do valave job instll stiffer springs and cams billet oil pump etc etc....your lookin at 35 hrs minimum shop charge....if u buy a complete engine with the mods done your still lookin at 8-11 grand depending on options just for the engine

now add 1400 dollars to this for the alum block or deal with another 100 pounds on the nose and having to buy block adapter plates to use in o5 up mustangs around 100 bucks
