i would think it depends how you get the hp...... im sure a forced induction mod would deteriorate the motor quicker than a N/A build do to the compression but hey idono.. if it helps
5.0s are capable of about 500 or so before they split
okay thnx alot guys i was planning on doing the forged internals and i was just wondering how much the block can hold... maybe ill look into the mmr blocks
I was discussing this in a huge thread on Modulars Fords and someone brought up the correction factors. This basically make hp equal when conditions arent. A guy running the same mods in colorado at 3000 feet elevation or isnt gonna make the same power as say me on Long island at 100 ft elevation. So when the guy in colorado dynos his car and it says hes makin 450whp its really say 375whp cuz the air density decreases the power but if he came to long island he would make 450whp. My car being dyno at almost sea level has a very small correction factor so when Im makin 450whp its just about 450whp. To get to the point my motor would make alot more power and put alot more stress on the motor then someone at higher elevation making the "same" power which is why so guys blow at 400hp and some run 450hp for years with out issue.
