so after not useing it for a month i know my fault but the batt is stone dead, so i charge it up and all is goon now for a while and even if i wasnt using it cuse of all the snow i did start it at least once a week. so today its been a week and its been not freezen out my its stone dead again. why suck a crappy ford batter i know alot of ppl had the same issue but man this sucks. so tomorrow morning after callin every place and no one knows what the hell they are doing, pepboys has one in stock for the stang and its the right one a optima redtop 35 not a 34 or a d35 man why does everyone think optima makes only one size battery for everything. soory i had to vent to someone who has knows what they are talkin about haha thanks

Sorry to hear about your trouble with your battery. I have had no issues so far with my battery and I have only started it 2 times since Nov. It is in my unheated or insulated garage.

yea i used them before and i love them . i do have an alarm so i know that uses some juice but is it enough to kill it.

You are not alone bro. I am on my 3rd ford battery in 18 months.

They say it is because of the shaker radio, you have to turn it off before shutting off the car. The amps seem to stay on. I have done voltage draw tests and all within the norm.


FORD BATTERIES SUCK!!!!! As for the alarm, mine draws .2amps which is nothing.

Let us know how the optima works, that is my next thing. Also, invest in a battery tender. Every time the battery goes dead, it loses some ability to fully recharge.

yea i knew about the radio thing so i make sure i shut it off before i turn the car off.

but yea optima supposed to be one of the best i used it in my truck for 6 yrs no issues at all def worth the money and sams club has them for 135 but they have to order the 35 model so i went to pepboys and it will be 170 i think worth it tho so i should be good now. glad to be a new member NOT HAHAHA

I still have the original battery in my `06 GT. Car is in an unheated garage.It has an alarm and never turn the radio off before the car.If it`s going to sit for more that 2 weeks at a time I hook up a the battery tender plus.So far I haven`t had a problem.

Ive had the same battery since I got the car in 07. I keep the car in my garage covered up all winter and havent started or done anything to the car since December 4th....although I do plan on taking the cover off and starting it up this weekend/little interior clean up (even though its spotless )

so pepboy was wrong it was the wrong model number haha what i life i have so i say ill get a diff batter and no one has that either so finaly advanced auto parts ordered me the red top for my car ill have it tomorrow moring
