Do head gaskets need to be done when putting a supercharger on? I've got an '02 GT, pretty much stock except for a CAI and exhaust. It's a centrifugal that I'm looking at; I wouldn't be running more than 8 (at max, probably go with 6 or 7). Gonna switch over to 3.73 gears (I have 18" wheels).
Two questions:
I read that my stock compression is 9.0:1. Do I need to lower the commpression for the supercharger?
Do I have to change the head gaskets for a supercharger?
I've been reading around as much as I can and I haven't seen that I need to do the head gaskets unless I have high mileage (which I don't). As far as the compression, I read on a sticky somewhere that 8.0:1 is "optimum", but I don't think I need that.
Help please thank youuuuuu
