so i was out buzzing around last night and I mashed the gas and I hit a bump in the road that made the wheels hop cause them to spin and then when it caught traction something must have broke or started to break because the car vibrates pretty bad now. It does not do it while I am stopped so i dont believe its the engine. I do know the clutch was on its way out however. I drove the car home with this vibrating driving me crazy and now I need to fix it. I ordered a new clutch and flywheel today and I am thinking u-joints while im at it.... any other things I should check out? I need it fixed by carlisle in 2 weeks here..... this sucks! haha but its an excuse to be in the garage and upgrade i guess

haha no def is not the rim because it will coast fine with no noise. It is more so when it is under load from the engine. Its something in the drivetrain I am pretty confident. I just dont know where to start...

i was told the u-joints sometimes do this if they are shot... and I know my clutch was pretty beat up. I should mention that this vibration gets worse as rpms rise. is there anything in the rear end I could have beat up that would be relatively easy to check out?

def not the shocks either... My buddy thinks I broke the pressure plate and its out of balance or some shit... I guess I will see when I pull the clutch apart later this week

deff sounds like the u joints had almost the same issue with my 87 exceept i did mine hitting a curb going bout 25. one of those things that gets easier to break if the parts seen some serious were and tear.

actually I believe I broke the harmonic balancer... the vibration seems to be getting a little worse. I never thought of it because I replaced the stock one last year... after a little research on the one I bought I realize you get what you pay for.... FML! hahaha anyway any day now the new clutch is going in and going to rip the balancer out and try a different one and see what happens....



always gotta check them muffler bearings too.... sum bitches always cause problems!

so after a $189 for a balancer and another $350 for clutch and flywheel this f*cking vibration is still there.... I got my new tires mounted and balanced on the front end and that didnt help either. The steering wheel and shifter vibrate up and down around 2300 rpm and stop about 3000 rpm. I have no idea what is going on with this thing but i need to fix it. I checked the u-joints while the driveshaft was out of the car and they look fine. In fact one seems to have been replaced it has red seals on it. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

the vibration is not there when I rev it up or let of the throttle....

I didn't think it would be either of those. Driveshaft itself may be screwed up if not the ujoints. How are the mounts? I have had a bad tranny mount before and it shook the car like crazy.

motor mounts and trans mounts were new last year but the motor did slide backwards a bit when we changed the oil pan gasket... is it possible thats jacked up even if it doesnt look bad?

I think this weekend I am going to put new u-joints in and see if it helps at all. Maybe Ill try to get some video of what its doing for visual entertainment.

i appreciate the ideas please keep them coming.
