Seriously F automatics

Ok I'm impressed and I know you die hard Gear Bangers think of Auto's as whimpy whimpy whimpy, and ok maybe it's the easy way out when drag racing. BUT a properly built auto can be just as fun as a stick and in some cases have advantages. Plus lets face it those vids are NOT your stock run of the mill standard transmissions and there's electronics involved
For racing I prefer a Built Auto but then again I'm one of those once in a blue moon racers so it's just easier and I can be more consistent without having to spend a ton. To be in the league your showing we're talking full suspension, axles, special transmissions, shifters, electronics etc...

Last time I took a Supercharged Stang to the track with a stick I embarrassed myself all day long. Couldnt launch it worth a chit and it just smoked the tires the entire track no matter how easy I left or shifted...

But with an Auto I have NEVER had a problem launching
(even with 780 RWHP and 100% stock suspension with a set of QA1's)
All I'm saying is DONT rule out a GOOD Built Transmission

When i bought my convertible it had a done up Freddy Brown AOD i hated it,i felt like i was driving something old..With in a month i put the 6 speed back in..The t56's on the cobras are so smooth and loved power shifting that bitch.But we all know the autos are better for drag racing..I'm not a racer and visit the track maybe 5 times a year and roughly put about 1500 miles on it,to me i rather go threw the gears even if my car is slower..
I hear ya Nick, we just need something a little smoother than this ****ing TKO like a Viper spec, magnum t56 maybe......

My Lightning use to run 9.74 and all you did was put it in Drive and STOMP IT. In comparison to those vids it looks like nothing
(and that particular run made my Truck the Worlds Fastest Street Lightning in 2006, and it held that record to early 2010)
