
Watson Racing as well as its sister company Watson Engineering have been integral in developing the Ford Mustang into a winning drag car over the past several years, not only playing a significant role in the manufacturing process of the Cobra Jet, but also supporting and sponsoring drivers as well. It’s no surprise then that the custom 2015 Mustang they brought to SEMA this year has a drag racing theme.
Nearly every aspect of the car is designed for drag racing, from the Strange Engineering suspension system and lightweight brakes to the custom tubular front and rear bumpers. It’s undoubtedly the most heavily modified Mustang in the Ford booth, although it doesn’t look out of place thanks to its clean livery from Ice Nine Customs. The interior is all business, though with Sparco Evo 3 race seats and a 6-point roll cage. Under the hood is a Ford Racing supercharger mated to a Tremec 6-speed transmission.
