Saleen Automotive will be making a “special announcement” later this month at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca as part of the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion. The company isn’t revealing any details about what that announcement will be, but our inside sources tell us that the company will be unveiling a new Mustang. What kind? Well, we’re not sure. However, 2014 will mark the 30th anniversary since the company was first founded as Saleen Autosport in 1984, and since then special models have celebrated the 10th, 15th, 20th and 25th anniversaries. We wouldn’t be surprised at all if Saleen is set to unveil a limited edition 30th anniversary Mustang.
This isn’t the first time that Saleen has introduced a new vehicle in Monterey. Back in 2001 the company unveiled the very first S7 supercar prototype at the historic races.
Of course, we can’t know for sure what Saleen has in store for us, but be sure that we’ll be on site in Monterey to show you whatever is revealed. Until then, check out the past Saleen anniversary edition Mustangs below.

To celebrate 25 years Saleen went all out, creating the 25th Anniversary Sterling Edition Mustang. Based on the 620 horsepower S302 Extreme, the Sterling Edition featured a carbon fiber front spoiler and rear diffuser, hand-painted graphics, custom interior and a genuine 16oz sterling silver dash plaque. Just 25 were produced.

Saleen honored two decades of history with the SA-20 Speedster. Based on the S281, the SA-20 featured a supercharged 4.6L V8 with 375 horsepower, five-spoke 18-inch wheels, tonneau cover with integrated light bar, and a custom Pearl White paint job with black and yellow graphics. The interior was designed to match, with special Saleen leather seats, custom floor mats and door panels as well as a console plaque. Just ten of the SA-20 Speedster Mustangs were produced.

Saleen marked 15 years of production with the SA-15. Limited to just ten units, each car features Bright Yellow paint with black graphics, five spoke 18-inch yellow wheels, vented composite hood and speedster tonneau cover. Inside Saleen made use of carbon fiber for the steering wheel, shifter and dash face, and custom seats, gauges, door panels and floor mats set the car apart from the standard S281.

For the company’s tenth anniversary Saleen decided to build ten limited edition anniversary Mustangs dubbed the SA-10. Based on the last year of the Fox Body platform, each SA-10 was based on Saleen’s standard supecharged Mustang* and featured black paint with yellow and white graphics. Saleen allowed each buyer to customize the car with options like Recaro seats or carbon fiber vented cowl hood, meaning each SA-10 is unique.
