There's nothing like a set of 15" Slicks, I use to cut 1.3's & 1.4's on them with my Lightning
Rob,
Lightning's come with bigger 18" tires and wheels than we use but I ran mostly 15", (also had some 16" and 18" but nothing hooked like 15")
But I do understand not wanting to hack it up, with the L's some people use to grind the calipers down to a point they're unsafe, mine was done right and the axles were turned down and the brakes relocated. If not anything else go with 16", the more sidewall you have the better and more consistant you'll be
BTW Bogarts D-10's are Da Shit
I happen to like a 30" tall Slick, so anytime I wanted to have fun on the street I use to throw a set of 30" tall 15" MT ET Streets. Jesus H Traction are these things night and day difference from a 18" drag radial.
I use to be able to actually roast the 18" DR's off the rims like you were power breaking while I was driving at highway speed if I stomped it to the floor. With the 15 x 12.5 30" ET Streets I could actually stomp it pretty good from a dead stop and LAUNCH that SOB on the street.
And now thanks to someone putting these big ass brakes on my car I was told I cant even fit a 17" rims on my Cobra

TG my car was set up to do one thing before the brakes went on, go 1320ft at a time. I have a real nice suspension but let me tell you something, even with them heated up I just smoke through all three gears with my 18" DR's, I wouldnt even attempt to take it to the track the way it is.
I WANT THE OLD SET UP BACK ON MY COBRA
