Rear end ??

I currently have 4.10's with stock axles and a stock carrier with a FRPP rear gurdle..

I am going to be installing some extra ponies under the hood this winter and i need to get axles and a carrier.

Does anyone know what will work best for me so i can start looking? I should be over 500RWHP and be running high 10's by next spring and i want to buy something thats going to last.

I already have an FRPP Alum Driveshaft.

where do you think is the best place to get the parts and how much do you think i should plan on spending???

Get a Torson(I can't spell) T2 from Ford, It has gears instead of clutchs, will never wear out. Or a Detroit TruTrac is a good choice if you do a lot of street driving.

If you car is a track car with little street use rock DR/Slick all the time put a spool in that bitch

summit racing has cheap prices on the axles and all types of spline amounts aswell as the spools and differentials

for that power level and if you want a cheaper option, an differential from an Explorer or 03 Cobra with 31 spline axles should be fine.

what he said. also i can weld the tubes for you. or you can go 9" and really not have to worry about it.

+100!!! Axles are the same price wether you get 31, 33 or 35 so go big! C clip elims are junk so def go with 9" ends. Spools are still streetable no matter what anyone says and DEFINATELY weld the tubes. I bypassed all the retailers and called Strange directy for my stuff. They tailered it to my car and i was very happy with it. Moser stuff is juat as good. Stay away from the no name chinese crap. It's not worth it!!

i agree, build it right the first time with the best parts you can buy. its cheaper to build it once than 2 or 3 times. as for what it costs, well that depends on where you go, Id put 2000$ aside for it to cover parts and labor for a fully built and braced rear but the more you can do yourself the cheaper it will be.

Guys, I appreciate the help very much but i dont know what you mean by weld it... Im assuming i would weld some type of reinforcements on the axle tubes but does anyone have picsures of what it will look like or exactly how i do it?? I will do all that stuff on my own but it would be nice to have something to go by..

Weld the axle tubes to the center section. Just run a bead around where they connect so they don't twist in the housing.

Ohh thats cake, i can do that.. Should i go with steel braided brake lines while i have them apart? Anyone know of a place that makes steel braided lines as a kit for the whole car?

My friend ran Moser 31 splines, rebuild trac-loc with extra clutches, and diff cover and ran 10.81@126.7 1.42 60s and ran it for years like that. If you are going to race it alot I'd get the tubes welded, 31 spline diff and axles, and then a Truetrac.

A guy I know runs one in his GT500 full weight 3900+ lbs race weight and is running 10.1@137. He has hundreds of passes and it's still astock 6spd car (original clutch and all) so it has taken some abuse!!

That's fine but like I said 31, 33 and 35 spline axles and diffs are the same price. Why go with 31's if you can get stronger stuff for the same price?

What exactly would I have to do and parts I would need to have the 9inch axles put in my 8.8 im so confused I don't want c clips or the eliminators but don't know what parts I need and what needs to be done cause I want to tell my mechanic specifically step by step what to do can somebody please pm me if they don't mind on what I would need to do and parts. Thanks appreciate it alot
