hey guys, so i really want to reach that 400hp mark. i currently have a rebuilt 302 from jasper engines which was bored to a 331 with gt40p heads (milled .045), tfs1 cam, ford racing roller lifters, ford racing flywheel, trick flow valve srpings, 1.7rr's, full exhaust, msd 6al ignition, blaster 3 coil, msd pro billet distributor, ford racing plug wires, bbk 255lph fuel pump, edelbrock performer intake manifold, holley 650 4b carb, ac delete, smog delete, moroso 2" carb spacer, spectre carbureted cold air intake, and bbk underdrive pulleys. just some opinions on how much hp i will have after a dyno tune, and what to do to get to that 400mark without spay or turbo, i want to stay n/a if possible. thanks

If you truly have a 331 you will need the following to make 400 RWHP.
At least 10.5:1 compression
Any good head with a runner between 195cc and 210cc that flows at least 280cfm @ .600" lift
Hyd. roller cam with a 230 to 240 duration intake and 240 to 250 duration exhaust @ .050" lift. 108 to 110 LSA and a lift somewhere in the range of .560" to .580".
NO BIGGER than a 750cfm carb.
32* to 36* total timing
Edelbrock Victor Jr. or Parker Funnelweb intake.
1 5/8 header will work but 1 3/4" long tubes would be better.
That should get you around 475 hp at the crank.

you will never make 400 hp from a 302. not without a power adder. The most I made from a 306 was 315 to the tire. (EFI) Threw on a Vortech came put to 457 to the tire. 50% increase like Vortech claimed.
