RAM vs Centerforce

i have a 99 gt with a CAI and Flow master cat back I really dont have the money to do anything else to my car besides tune it later down the line. I need a new clutch and I have used spec clutched and find them to be really crappy. I've heard back things about king cobra and zoom. '

Centerforce and Ram are said to be good so i've been looking at the ram HDX or powergrip, and the centerforce dual friction. the Ram's are cheaper but If im going to change my clutch I want to do it right even if i have to spend a couple bucks more. any ideas on what i should be getting which RAM is better or should i be looking at other clutches.

I ran the centerforce dual friction for about 3 months and didn't like it at all. I don't know why, some people say its great, maybe I just got a bad one? but anyway I changed to a spec stage 2+ and I actually liked that way better.

Hope this helps, so if I were you I would go with the RAM.

Well Im not postitive on the situation but....If you dont plan on modding more than maybe you dont even need that much of a clutch....Id think just a Ford clutch would do the job unless you do have mods planned for down the road...

Well as of now I'm still in school so student loans and bills are racking up. I do plan on having the car for a long time and hope to be able to put more power in her. I'm also looking for a clutch that will last since I do hit the streets and have a good time with it.

^^^ Agreed. I still run my factory Mach clutch and I'm pushing 427hp and 480tq at the wheels. No need to over clutch your car. If you go with too strong of a clutch, guaranteed tourque shock will end your tranny's life quickly. Either leave what you have or go ith the King Cobra.

The Stock Cobra Clutch should easily handle what you have right now, if it was me I would save some of the money and stay stock.

I just recently put a RAM Powergrip HD in my car with the TR6060 6 Speed Swap and I love it- WAY better then stock, a little bit lighter then SPEC but still tough and feels like a sports car clutch-

My clutch can handle 650RWHP and it feels only a bit tougher a stock GT Clutch- it does take some getting use too. I also went with a RAM Steel Flywheel (Explosion resistant)...

if you are stock or just bolt ons, just get a factory replacement for now- they can take more abuse then they get credit for

I have no problem going to ford and having them put in a new stock clutch. My father owned a ford escort and he put 4 clutches in before he said screw it and sold the thing. after the first one went he kept putting the fords in which lasted under 6 months some under 3months. any info on that. should i be worried about it or no
