PROBLEM! hole below gas pedal causeing throttle 2 stay wide open!

So i drop it down into the 2nd the other night n let the car lose go to shift into 3rd and RPMS shoot thru the roof. automaticly i turn the car off and coast to a stop to find out that i have worn a whole into the carpet from putting it to the floor 2 much:nono: so the pedal will get stuck when i put it 2 the floor..now i'm trying 2 figure out how to fix this because i cant drive it the way it's ment to be driven now....ne idea's? has ne-1 else had this issue?
Theres a recal for a problem like this on the 03 cobra's hmm...

I would cut the carpet away from the pedal, then spray some undercoating right on the floor. If the carpet is black, you are good to go, if not, get some rubber floormats.

I would highly recommend doing the 99-04 pedal mod and u wont have this problem. Ever notice how much lower the gas pedal is from the clutch/brake pedals, well thats all the usless slack u have in u'r throttle cable. I did it with my cobra and its so much easier to blip throttle and go WOT quicker. My 04 GT has the same issue. It had a factory recall, brought it to the dealership and they fixed the carpet.

This is common on these cars. If you google it, you will find a thousand guys with the same problem. You can find posts on where to cut the carpet to prevent this from happening again, but I am sure you can figure out where it need to be trimmed away. I would recommend both cutting the carpet and doing the pedal mod. Glad to hear it didn't cause and accident!
