pre made turbo kit or custom

ive been lookingg at cartech and turbotechnologyinc single turbo kits for the fox body those are the 2 most legit companies ive come across since ive been researching, am i missing a better one?? or is it better to have one made for my car i have a couple local shops in mind...

Im not that familliar with them however i have heard some serious horror stories from guys that bought those "TURBO" kits on ebay..

hellion is a good company.. not sure all the kits they have avail tho. i know they make some bad ass stuff for the terminators and 05+. prob worth a look

Cartech has been around for a long time.... TTI has a good rep.

I would personally recommend B&G.

This is coming from the guy who blew a gasket when PTK never sent my my head unit. I take some responsibility for their demise. \


No doubt, a custom kit made in your car would be best but thats too much $$ and youll wait forever.

I run a HP Turbo Kit, love it. It has a 3.5 inch downpipe which is a plus (except for fitment... Had to use a BFH to make it fit past my Scatter Shield) . The JetHot coating blows, its flaking and rusting... If I was to order now I'd go with B&G because of the better support and turn around times.

i went up to HPI today because its right by where i live www.hpiturbo.com they have some serious cars up there mostly hondas but ive heard good things about what comes out of there shop...told me he would make a real nice kit just told me to get the manifolds that come forward from jegs or summit...also said screw blow thru and just go with an accel dfi setup

DFI is great if you can afford it. GEN 7 is bux, plus tune. I went the chip route and works just as good.

Depends what your running and who your tuner is. I'm not pushing the need for DFI yet, if I had a 4 bolt block and running more boost I'd make the move. It doesnt make sense for me when I am at the limits of my block right now.

dont confuse the capabilities of the system with the limitations of your tuner.

You can help stock blocks live longer with a dfi because its far more accurate and fine-tunable.

what are the limits of a gm 4 bolt block when it comes to turbo, its killing me that i might have to drop 2-3 grand on a dart block especially since the dfi is another 2500, but i chose to do turbo so if buying a dart block comes along with it then it is what it is but if i can get away with a gm block then it would make me feel much better

2500 for DFI?!? It should be no where near that. Not sure on the limits of a 4 bolt main block, however its a lot stronger the the stock block. My buddy is not turbo'd however he is pushing 26lbs of boost with a procharger and a boss block.

cuz im in the process of building a boosted small block chevy in my 89 lx hatch lol ive been waitin for a reaction it seemed to have blown over everyones head so far... anyways how much of a difference could it make on what a stock block can handle im sure it has to be somewhat close between the 2...will a stock block hold 1000hp? 800?
