power source for autometer tach?

Hi I have an autometer monster tach, I have the ground wire hooked up, the wire for the lighting, a wire to the negative side of the coil, and I need to know a good power source, I hooked it up to the solenoid but it didn't seem to have enough power

I ran mine to the power window wire at the fuse box.Its the solid pink one. worked perfect for me it gets juice when its in accesory or run. also you could tap into the radio harness I belive its the yellow wire with the black stripe that is power when its in run or accesory Dont quote me on that its been awhile try here for some help and future reference veryuseful.com

I looked at the fuse box, I see three pink wires under there, are those the wires your talking about?

ok, i tapped into both the radio harness wire and the power window wire and what happened was the needle would only move when i would tap the two wires together, when i connected them, i got nothing

Yea the ground is good because the tach lights up when I turn my headlights on, u think i should I run the green wire to the msd box instead of the neg side of my coil?
