Those pic's are even better than what the news showed (or should I say even worse). The massive devastation that storm left in a few minutes was outright scary. TG only one person lost their life due to being in the car when the tree landed on it, it could have been A LOT worse... Of course even 1 loss life is to many
I lived through it here in LI many years ago and it's one of the scariest things I will ever experience. My son was a toddler and I was holding him in my arms showing him the massive hail hitting our outside patio roof. I was kneeling down at our sliding doors and all of a sudden a tree came down and took out the patio roof two inches in front of our faces. I grabbed him and started running for another part of the house and I could heat trees hitting my house from almost every angle.
When all was said and done I had a tree take the main beam of my house out and pretty much the entire roof. I had massive tree limbs and branches sticking through my living room ceiling. Another tree hit my 70 Chevelle SS, another hit my Pathfinder, others took out 150 ft of fence, my shed roof, and my pool. My neighbors 69 GTO was squashed like it was put in a crusher, and the news did the story right on my front lawn, it was a REAL MESS and one I never want to go through again.
Hence the reason I no longer have 1 single tree on my property
(unfortunately one neighbor has prob 30 still hanging over my property line)
