Well a little south of Rochester in the bustling metropolis of Bloomfield (don't care much for neighbors
). Always loved Mustangs, got hooked when I saw a gray Mach 1 with black stripes at the Ford dealer back in the early 70's. Buddy had a late 60's coupe we used to bomb around in.
Did the SUV and truck thing until the new '05 Mustang's came out and brought back all those fond memories. Picked up a red Roush GT Sport at the dealer since all the regular GT's were sold out and loved it. Have used that as my DD ever since, except when the snow flies, and then I park it in the barn and switch to my Silverado ( love my Chevy truck too, sorry Ford fans ).
Been feeling the urge for more juice for a while but was not sure what path to take. When I happen to stumble on the specs of the 2013 Shelby GT500, my fate was sealed. I put down a deposit that week for the local dealers first allocation, joined SCCA, and bookmarked the website for the local track (New York International Raceway) which turns out to be only 30 mins from my house! Heck, Watkins Glen is less than an hour away and they have several outfits that rent the track for public use. The stars seem to be aligned so I'm going for it.
Looking forward to hooking up with other Mustang owners, talking shop, and taking things to the next level.
