Ernesto you hijacked my thread....Welcome to the site, now go get your own thread....
Thanks all for the welcome and yes I race it at the Coliseum during the auto-x events sponsored by Porsche club, BMW club, and SCCA club
Its like this; They are all open events, so anyone can race anything (moms suv - a rental - dads riding lawn mower) if you pay the fee (usually 35-45 bucks) and have a snell rated helmet not more than 5 years old (they do have some helmets as well to borrow for a small fee but they are usually disgusting). Now lets go racing.
At any given event you can get between 6 & 10 full runs (they build the courses to be about 60 seconds long and max speed of approx 60 mph), obviously the faster cars can obliterate these #'s.
They break up the field into 2-main groups and while one group is running the other is out on the course doing your "job" for the day. Some of these duties include grid (check off how many runs a car does - tag on windshield), starter (self explanatory), then there are the cone retrievers (run out and replace cones hit during runs) your spaced out pretty good but you will be asked to run to the cone and then out of the way because other cars will be running....there are other positions like clean-up too....
4-6 runs in the morning, usually no lunch because everyone want to race, then 4-6 runs in the afternoon & the day ends before 5pm with the trophy ceremonies.
really is a great time and i would like to see more steeds out there so come on....
